1919 ~ 2012
Louise (Eloisa) was born in Pocatello, Idaho on January 13, 1919 to her parents, Esequiel (Joe) and Nicolasa Jauregui. Her parents emigrated from Spain in the early 1900’s, she was always very proud of her Basque heritage.
Mom married Melvin A. Smith on July 6, 1942 in Salt Lake City, and they had 67 wonderful years together before Dad’s passing in September 2009.
Mom was a very talented artist and seamstress in her earlier years, making prom dresses and a wedding gown for her daughters. She was a very kind woman, and a wonderful mother.
Louise enjoyed her friendships over the past two years living at Atria.
She is survived by her daughters, Ramona (Richard) Tripp and Yvonne (Dennis) Bartholomew; her son, Russell Smith; grandchildren, Nicole, Sam and Matthew, as well as step grandchildren, Debora, Craig and Michael; also special niece, Catherine Brum. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Pilar.
As per her wishes private services will be held.
The family wishes to thank Yolanda Tan, Applegate Hospice and Ruth Cardenas for their compassionate care over the years.
