Luis Duran was born on 02/01/1999 in Hemet, California. He unexpectedly lost his life on 10/10/2021 in West Jordan, Utah.

Luis is survived by his parents Alfredo Duran and Karla Nere Rios, as well as his brothers Freddy Duran and David Perez. He is described by many as someone who projected peace, was caring, helpful and always had uplifting words. He was a great friend, son, brother and cousin who anyone could always count on.

His free and joyful spirit allowed him to live life the way he wanted to and enjoyed it to the best. Luis was a people person. He enjoyed being in touch with nature, playing video games and watching anime, his favorite one being Dragon Ball Z. Music was his passion and he loved singing, especially if he was drinking his favorite bottle... Hennessy. He also loved a good plate of 'Carne en su Jugo.'

As a kid, he was very energetic and spontaneous. He'd get lost and would hurt himself very often. At just 12 years old, he wanted to play a joke on his parents and grandparents and jokingly told them he was becoming a dad. Luis was very happy with who he was. He didn't find a need to impress anyone and held no grudges. He was a dreamer, full of ambition with many goals, such as becoming a basketball player for his favorite team, The Los Angeles Lakers. He wanted to be a successful man and was working towards accomplishing his goals but unfortunately was not able to continue.

God had other plans and called him home too soon to be reunited with his grandparents. We all have gained a loving and caring angel who will continue to watch over all of us.

He will be greatly missed and forever hold a place in our hearts.

Rest In Peace Luisito.

It was such a pleasure to know you, Luis.
Although your time on earth was short lived, your amazing energy and charisma touched the lives of so many people, me being one of them.
Even though your life was cut short here on earth, whether accidental or part of a much bigger Divine plan, I am thankful I got to know you.
Until I see you again, Luis.
Love,
Shayleena

I remember the first day that I met you, it was at Andreas quince practice and when they said We were going to be partners, I was knees weak, arms spaghetti. Fast forward a month or two later we started dating. You showed me a shit ton of good music, I love your music taste and your love for music is insane. You can see it in your face when your favorite song comes on.. you start bobbing your head, nose wrinkled and smiling from ear to ear. I didn’t understand basketball but I knew you loved it so we would order food and watch the lakers game and sometimes you would explain it to me, other times you’d be yelling at the tv. I don’t have just one favorite memory of you, I have a whole memory book with hundreds of chapters. I remember when we went to Las Vegas and got on the Paris rollercoaster, spent hours walking the strip. Swam for hours at the resort we were staying at and Hiked in st George. I loved going on hikes/outdoors with you because you appreciated nature’s beauty like no other person I’ve ever met. You introduced me to your favorite food, carne en su jugo, specifically your moms. You always loved a good bag of chips too so I would always be sure to bring you one whenever I went over. I loved watching how happy you got over food.
I am thankful for the the things you have taught me. I am thankful for the time I had with you. Thank you for always coming to me whenever you needed someone to talk to.
We will meet again in our next life.
