Manuel P. Valdez

1929 – 2018

Passed away at Mt. Olympus Care facility, Monday afternoon on January 22, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer for 5 years. Born May 16, 1929 in Ensenada, New Mexico to Jose Perfecto Valdez and Manuelita Atencio. He married his late beloved wife Beatrice T. Martinez September 6, 1950, in Salt Lake City. She passed on June 3, 2007. Served Army, WWII Veteran. Worked 31 years for Kennecott.

Survivors include his children, Gerald (Maurina), Michael, Alexander, Margie, Herman, and Belinda (Mike) Manilla; 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, and 4 Great, great grandchildren. Brothers Felix, Michael Richard, late Carlos and Victor. Sisters Priscilla and Maria (Bennie). He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services; Sunday, January 28 at Valley View Memorial Park 4335 W. 4100 S. W.V.C. Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30-7, Vigil/Rosary 7-8:30. Church mass service at 11:00 Monday, January 29 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 2315 E. Redondo Ave. S.L.C. Burial following the church mass located at Valley View Memorial Park 4335 W. 4100 S. W.V.C.
