Marcus Alexander Garcia

April 29, 1987 – August 9, 2023
Obituary of Marcus Alexander Garcia
IN THE CARE OF

Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home

Our beloved Marcus Alexander Garcia passed away on August 9th, 2023, at 11:06 pm due to a senseless act of violence. Although his life was taken so soon and so tragically, we know he is with the Lord, free of pain and sorrow, and waiting to see us all again someday. Marcus was born on April 29th, 1987, to Alex P. and Angela M. Garcia. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marcus was a fun-loving energetic boy with a side smirk that could just melt your heart. He was the youngest of 3 brothers “The 3 Musketeers”. Michael, Matt, and Marcus were always together, always looking out for one another and always having each other’s backs. Matt shared some identical battles with Marcus which ultimately formed a best friend bond that will never fade. Being a big brother, he always loved and protected his baby sis. He was the true definition of what a sibling should be. Marcus faced some battles in life but always remained hopeful for his future. He never gave up. He became a father at 17 to a beautiful strong premature baby girl, Angel, weighing 1lb 10oz who just like her dad, never gave up. He was so proud to be her dad. Recently he became a father a 2nd time to sweet Alizae on February 26th, 2023. Loving, funny, scatter-brained, loyal, smart, determined, courageous, genuine, a true soldier, are all words that come to our minds to perfectly describe him. Since a little boy he dreamt of being a truck driver so he could see the U.S. and he accomplished that dream proudly in April 2021 inspiring his two older brothers to do the same. Even though Marcus left this earth way too early he left it doing exactly what he dreamt of and protecting his new baby girl. He is survived by his parents Angela and Alex Garcia, 2 brothers Michael (Melissa) Garcia, Matthew (Christina) Garcia and one sister Mikayla (Nick) Montoya. Two daughters Angel (18) and Alizae (6 months) Garcia. Nieces: Aspen (14) Aaliyah (14) Lexi (12) Nessa (7) Precious (4) Nevaeh (1) Nephews: Nathaniel (18) Jaxson (6) Hayden (14) Mason (13). Grandpa Dave Melin, Uncle Les (Bobbie) Moore, and cousins Mathew, Chris and Kendra. Preceded in death by his Grandma Barbara Melin, Brother Joshua Garcia and best friend James Vito Whitehead, Grandpa Leslie E. Moore Sr., Favorite Uncle Ruben Garcia, and Cousins Becky Garcia & Jeremy Moore.
