“Together Again”
Known to all as Grandma Grisel, our cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Joan Dilley Kany Grisel has been called home to join her sweetheart W.D. of 59 years and her precious son Bradley James who have anxiously awaited her arrival.
Her life’s work was magnified in her daily love and devotion to her 8 children, 43 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren. She knew intimately each and every one of them.
She leaves behind her beloved family, a true legacy of a tireless lifetime of service, an unwavering testimony of the Plan of Salvation and the atonement of Jesus Christ, and courage to face life’s challenges with dignity and grace.
No words can express our depth of love and gratitude for the example of pure Christ-like love she extended to everyone she met, and Grandma Grisel never met a stranger. All were counted to her as family and friend.
She was, and still is, truly an “elect lady”, a beloved daughter of God returning home with honor. Well done Lady J, well done.
She is survived by her sweet sister, Lee Isabell; beloved brother, James P. (Dara) Kany; most precious children, daughter, Bonnie (Joseph) Christopherson, son, Chris (Nancy), daughter, Deanna, son, Joe (Adrienne), daughter, Willa (John) Bundy, daughter, MaryAnn and son, Ben (Brenda).
Funeral Services for Joan will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening, February 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
