Mary Louise Walton Andersen 88, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 in Provo, Utah due to complications of surgery. She was born Dec. 29, 1924 to Benjamin Allen Walton and Mary Hamilton Glade. She was the second child of five children and the oldest daughter. Born in Salt Lake City but raised in Southern California most of her life. As a young girl she loved music and dance. She participated in all the mutual activities and was elected queen of the ward and stake gold & green ball. She loved to sing and participating in the youth chorus was one of her favorite activities of the week. She met the love of her life at one of these choir activities and married Alvin Clive Andersen on August 14, 1946. Mary Lou was a woman with a lot of love to give and was well known for her love of children having seven of her own and her willing heart to serve others at anytime.
As a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served for many years in the Primary, Youth programs and Relief Society. She also served two church service missions, one with her husband and one on her own. Her greatest joy is her family. She will be greatly missed.
Survived by her daughters, Mary Frances, Shirley, Patrica Ann, Sharon Lee, sons, James Walton and Alvin Walton; Sisters, Grace McAndres, Donna Leake, Patricia Neser and brother Benjamin Allen Walton; and 22 Grandchildren and 47 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Clive Andersen, son William Walton, and granddaughter Rebecca Rex.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday April 3, 2013 at 11:00am in the West Jordan 19th Ward chapel located at 2666 W 7000 S West Jordan, Utah. Her friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 So., West Valley City. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
