Mary Lyn Nielsen

Mary was born on June 22, 1955, to Robert K. Nielsen and Joyce A. Bennett. Mary was the oldest of 11 children. Professionally, Mary spent close to 40 years serving her community through her work at Utah Legal Services.

Mary married Dan Christofferson and had two children. They were later divorced.

Mary will be deeply missed.

Mary is predeceased by her son, Brandon Robert Christofferson; her mother, Joyce; her father, Robert; her stepmother, Monette Nielsen; and her brother, Nathan Nielsen.

She is survived by her daughter, Danette Iverson (Jeff); her 9 siblings: Andy Nielsen (Brenda), Larry Nielsen (Beth), Beth Dunford (Rick), Elaine Lindstrom (Lane), Kristin Nielsen (Ross Gershel), Sharon Standiford (Fred), Stephen Nielsen, Lynae Smith (Shay), and Cameron Nielsen; along with many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Snow Canyon Retirement Community in Santa Clara, Utah, for their compassionate care of Mary over her final year, with special thanks to Liz Sharp and her care team for their exceptional kindness. The family also extends sincere thanks to Cierra Barber and everyone at Dixie Home Rehab and Hospice for keeping Mary comfortable and gently guiding the family through her final days.

A private celebration of life will be held with close friends and family to honor her memory.

In honor of Mary's passion for animal welfare, a modest donation to Best Friends Animal Society has been made in her name. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society at www.bestfriends.org.
