Mathew Thomas Hollands

Mathew is survived first and foremost by his daughters Kylee and Denise who loved him dearly and will miss their father. Ruby Mendenhall (mother) John Hollands (father) Ben Hollands (brother) and many more family members. Mathew is preceded in death by his wife Stacey Hollands who passed away three years ago to her own battle against cancer.

Mathew was born on February 24, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Hollands and Ruby Mendenhall. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 in 2001 and proudly served our country for 12 years, then joined the Navy Reserves for the past three years. Mat was always happy, he had an infectious personality and made friends wherever he went. He touched so many hearts in his young life and he’ll have left that imprint on all of us. Mathew will be dearly missed.

A viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City, Utah on Thursday, October 8 from 6-8 p.m. A small viewing will be held at 12:00 to 12:45 then services to follow at Valley View Memorial on Friday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale Utah.
