Maudine Tanner

Maudine S. Tanner, age 91, passed away on January 13, 2018 in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on February 2, 1926 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Lester R. Snowden and Shelly Slayton Snowden. She married and divorced Leroy J. Byers and married Grant C Tanner.

Maudine is survived by her children; Patrick A. Byers, Patricia A. Laveder (Guy), Clayton L. Byers, Keith L. Byers (Sandy), Marilyn Thiessens (Scott), Robert D. Byers (Betty); her sibling; Dorthy Hazen; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 26 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two grandsons; Chad Laveder and Brian Byers; great granddaughter; Randi Byers; brother; JL Snowden; and three sisters; Frances Jackson, Kate Jones, and Pauline Dobson.

Maudine enjoyed fishing and was very good at it. She made many beautiful ceramic figures and sewed everything from blankets to bunnies. She especially loved to grow roses and many other beautiful flowers in her yard.

Mom will be in our hearts and memory forever.

Services will be held Sunday, January 21st with a Viewing at 10am and Funeral at 11am at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
