

Melvin Robbie Higley was born on July 22, 1940 in Rupert, Idaho to Donald Edwin Higley and Thelma Christina Anderson. He grew up in Snowville, Utah. His family moved to Kearns, Utah when he was 16. He graduated from Cyprus High School. He served a mission for two and half years in Sweden. He married Sandra Lee Smith on June 19, 1964. He worked for Hill Air Force Base for 30 years. After Retiring, he worked as a handyman for his brother in law Larry Smith. He also performed many quiet acts of service with his handyman skills. He was known as a hard worker and always had a
project or two he was working on. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many
callings including Bishop, as a councilor in a Stake Presidency, Stake Clerk, Ward Mission Leader, Family History consultant and various other callings. He served a mission with his beautiful wife
Sandra in the Washington D.C. North mission in 2008-2009. He was a temple worker for over 14 years in the Jordan River Temple and in the Taylorsville Temple.
Melvin and Sandra had 3 sons David Higley, Derrick Higley (Emma), and Craig Higley (Collette).
9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and
Thelma Higley, brother Everett Higley, sister Linda Jackson and great granddaughter Lila Higley.
Funeral Services will be held in Kearns at the 14th ward Church building at 4260 w. 5215 s., Kearns
Utah at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing before the funeral at the same location from 9:30 to 10:45.
