It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our brother, son, uncle, nephew and friend, Nene Tevita Ka’ilikoa Lavaka, age 25, who passed away on July 9, 2021. Born September 30, 1995 in West Valley City, Utah. Son of Teisa Lavaka and Larry Lavaka.
Nene (known as Lavaka to family) was athletic and loved to participate in sports, especially rugby & boxing. When family members had any sports or celebratory events, Nene always made time to attend so that he could cheer them on. Attending the OWATC, Nene’s goal was to become a machinist so that he could provide for his future family someday.
Survived by his parents, Larry Lavaka (father) and Teisa Lavaka (mother); siblings; C-Knee Davidson (Terrance), Taimani Ika (Everett), Feofa’aki Lavaka, Sherwin Lavaka, Mokeni Taufa, Amanaki Lavaka (Jessica), Tu’ipulotu Lavaka, Solomona Fonoti, and Elijah Hufana; niece, Tapukitea Ika, and nephew Mathias Davidson; grandfather, Kisione Taufa; he is preceded in death by Tevita and Fapuiaki Lavaka (grandparents), Patiola Taufa (grandmother), William Brian Vea (brother), and Mosese Alofa Davidson (nephew).
