Norma was born February 20,1939 to Ariel Batt and Marjorie Bird in Granger, Utah.
Norma married her best friend Avan Ridd Grant on April 19, 1957. They built their home in Granger, Utah where they lovingly raised four children, 2 sons Dean & Dan and 2 daughters Judy & Janette from Avans previous marriage.
In 1968 they built a home in South Jordan, where they made life long friendships with neighbors.
Norma had a great love for animals, she loved having a doggy to keep her company. She loved horses and was a member of the Mustangers club with her husband. Norma loved spending time with her husband and family and was always up for a good game of cards. Through the years she had many hobbies including crocheting blankets for family, bowling league, ceramics, and acrylic painting. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, reading, word searches and puzzles. She had a love of John Wayne which she passed onto her Grandkids. Norma had a talent for plants and could revive any plant that was brought to her.
Norma loved spending time with her best friend and husband Avan, and their family. She enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, and riding horses in Faust canyon. Norma and her husband shared a love of travel and traveled all over the country in their motor home.
Norma had a big heart and welcomed many into her home, where there was always candy in the dish and soda in the fridge.
Norma will be greatly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband who she missed very much, her parents Ariel Batt and Marjorie Bird, her brother Vern, and great grandchildren Troy and Olivia.
She is survived by her children Dean (Pauline) Grant, Dan (Melanie) Grant, Judy (Glen) Dansie, Janette Grant, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the neighbors for their kindness and friendship and to Inspiration Hospice for their great care.
A viewing will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 from 9:30-10:20, services will follow at 10:30 am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City Utah.
