

Patricia Joan Hudman Beesley Van Duren passed away at her home in Murray, Utah on February 18, 2018. Pat was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 1, 1932 to Jerome Hudman and Bernice Dowd Hudman. She was the 6th of ten children. On February 8, 1951 she married Gilmore Theral Beesley in Merced, California. This marriage took her to California, Washington, New Jersey and Georgia as Gil served in the Army. Six children were born into this marriage; Gilmore Jerome, Ricky Lee, Robby Ray, Teri Jo, Kendra Lyn, and William Charles. Teri and William were stillborn. This marriage ended in 1985. While living in Georgia, Pat worked at Ideal Cleaners until she began a career with Blue Cross & Blue Shield. She transferred to Utah and settled in Murray in 1981, where she lived until her death. She remained single for many years until she met Melvin Richard Van Duren, whom she married on October 11, 2002 in the Jordan River Temple. He passed away in April, 2010. Her hobbies included sewing, small dogs, birds and fish, crocheting, gardening, and family gatherings. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held various callings including Relief Society President, Stake Young Women’s counselor and primary. Her favorite calling was teaching the Sunbeam class, where she served until a 2013 back injury; she often expressed how much she missed her Sunbeams. Her health gradually declined, and she was less able to stay for all church meetings. She is survived by 4 children, 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 24th at 1:00pm at 1160 East Vine Street, Murray, UT 84121. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral beginning at 12:00 noon.
