Patricia Sharon Pierce-Brown was reunited at last with her beloved soul mate & husband Ray Brown in heaven on Thursday December 19 2014. He escorted her home to heavenly father and all of her family.
Patty was born in Durango, CO to Melvin “Pat” Pierce & Mary Lucille Powell-Pierce on December 26, 1940. She grew up a coal miner’s daughter.
She was a passionate and giving woman, and extremely stubborn. She fell in love and married her childhood sweetheart Ed Boren in 1958. They had two wonderful children, Phylinda and Ed Jr. Their lives went separate ways in 1978. Patty met her soul mate Ray Russell Brown in 1978. They married in Reno, NV after a passionate twelve day courtship. Their marriage lasted 33 years until Ray’s passing on May 14, 2011. Their love gave this world two more beautiful daughter’s, Amber and Megan Brown.
Patty and Ray were dedicated scouters. Patty retired from the Boy Scouts after about 20 years, but their love for scouting and their scouting family was to last forever. Her love, compassion, strength, and stubbornness, will live on in her children and grandchildren that she loved so much.
She is survived by her brother; Ronald A. Pierce, Sister; Sherri Pierce Collins, four children; Phylinda, Ed, Amber (Sean) and Megan. Her nine grandchildren; Ashton, Ryan, Jacob, Alexandra, William, Jeanette, Lily, Olivia, and Serena. Preceded in death by her parents Melvin (Pat) Pierce and Mary Lucille Powell-Pierce, first husband Ed Boren, and love of her life Ray Brown.
A viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S. WVC, UT on Friday, December 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Lakeridge 15 ward, 3606 S. Wingpointe Dr. (7615 W.) at 11:00 a.m.
