“Pat”
It saddens us to inform all the wonderful people who loved our mom so much, that on March 9, 2011 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and best friend lost her courageous battle against a very disabling and unknown disease they call “M.S.” Patricia D. Hogan was born on July 8, 1942 in Mt. Clement, Michigan, and was raised by two wonderful parents; her father, Francis Herschel Shape and Edna Tarzwell Shape.
Graduated from Granger High School in 1960. Pat was married to her high school sweetheart, David Hogan for 27 years, later divorced. She has spent the past 11 years with her wonderful boyfriend, Rob Jemison who she loved dearly. Pat was such a beautiful lady and such an inspiration to so many. She was a wonderful homemaker having many talents, sewing beautiful clothes and always making the most beautiful birthday cakes. Everyone was always envious of her beautiful flower gardens, she had such a passion for gardening and loved her “roma tomatoes”. Pat retired from Mervyn’s where she was employed for 23 years. She adored and will be greatly missed by all her grandchildren. Survived by Stacey (Chris) Davis and Julie (Warren) Thomas; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild. Siblings, Janet (Dan) Dodds, Peggy Shape (Charlie), Lynne (Rob) Bailey, many in-laws who loved her dearly, also nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and also her biological mother, Iona Gorrell who passed while giving birth to her.
Her daughters would like to extend a special thanks to all the family and friends who have showed so much love and support over the past few weeks during such a difficult time. Please hold in your hearts how much love mom had for you all. In lieu of flowers please give an extra hug to someone special. We would like you all to join us in celebrating Pat’s life in a casual setting on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
Condolences may be sent to the family @valleyviewfuneral.com.
