West Jordan, UT - Ralph Roger (Butch) Hasson, age 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 14, 2014. After years of fighting congestive heart failure he left this earth in search

of a new fishing hole.

Ralph was born to Eldon and Darlene (Jacobson) Hasson in Norfolk, Nebraska. He graduated from Cyprus High School where he was a member of the State Championship Basketball Team. Immediately following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. He married the love of his life, Martha Ann (Parish) Hasson on Feb 6, 1960. Ralph retired as a Teamster. While in retirement he went on to work for 5 years at SkyWest Airlines until his health started to slow him down. He had a passion for trains. As an avid collector, he always beamed with pride as the grandchildren (or anyone that was willing) asked him to run his trains. He was lovingly known as 'train grandpa'. He was always willing to do anything that was asked of him. He loved camping, fishing as well as water and snow skiing. He and Martha loved to travel and see new places. He always had to be moving, even near the end.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, their children: Dan (Trinity); Tania (Steve); Cindy. Grandchildren: Cody (Brittni), Chase (Becca) and Tyler along with 3 great grandchildren; Gage, Wyatt and Bailey, and brother Bob Profitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as sister Virginia and brother Mickey.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
