1955-2015
Our beloved husband and father passed away January 16, 2015 due to complications with leukemia. Randy returned home to his Heavenly Father surrounded by family. He was born June 27, 1955 in Williston, ND to the best parents anyone could ask for, Robert Glenn and DeLaine Williams Ellis. He grew up in Billings, MT in a loving home with five brothers and one sister. On December 9, 1976 he married his sweetheart, Karen Suzanne Healy, who he loved and adored for 38 years. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple.
He graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1973 and then left to serve an LDS mission in Pittsburgh, PA. He was an employee with Delta Air Lines for 32 years where he made many good friends.
Randy had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. This included pranks as a child and telling jokes to everyone. Randy loved music and was a huge fan of The Beatles. He loved trains and old cars, and was an avid reader who loved learning about history. He also loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. His leadership, example, and strong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ have blessed many lives.
Family meant the world to Randy. He enjoyed being with his dad on runs while he drove for Conoco, and had a great relationship with his grandparents. He has ten grandchildren and was happily awaiting the birth of the eleventh.
The Ellis family would like to thank the staff at LDS Hospital for their love and care for Randy. Everyone commented that it was a pleasure to take care of him.
Randy is survived by his loving wife Karen; parents Bob and DeLaine Ellis; brothers David (Melanie), Rob (Karen), Wade (Tammy), Jim (Cindy), and Jeff (Renae); his children Nathan (Andrea), Matthew (Megan), Sarah, Rachel (Troy) Arnoldson, and Joseph (Vanessa) and many nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his son Andrew James, sister Lisa Marie, and grandparents.
