Randolyn Jean Newell (Rydman), “Randee,” passed away on May 31, 2026 at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with cancer. Randee was born in Oceanside, California on December 31,1976 to Ronald and Jacqueline Rydman (Burch).
Randee was the youngest of four children and was adored by her parents and older siblings. As a child, she was known for her bright smile and her ability to make friends everywhere she went.
She met the love of her life, Dave, as a teenager. They were married for nearly 30 years and created a beautiful life together. They were best friends and devoted partners until Randee’s last breath.
Above all, Randee loved being a mother to her two sons, Marshall and Ashton. She felt lucky to be a stay-at-home mom and gave her boys a fun and active childhood. They spent their time together playing games, hiking and biking, and taking many trips to Disneyland. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays, and she went above and beyond to make them special for her kids.
The other loves of her life were her two grandchildren, Deklyn and Leela. She was the best grandma “Grammee” and stocked her house with toys, books, and games for them. She also cherished the special bond she had with her daughter-in-law, Jocelyn. She was so proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories with them.
Her hobbies included quilting, needlepoint, and spoiling her grandkids. She also enjoyed her job at Costco where she made many friends.
Remaining to cherish Randee’s memory are her husband, David Newell; children, Marshall Newell (Jocelyn) and Ashton Newell; grandchildren, Deklyn and Leela Newell; mother, Jacqueline Rydman; siblings, Ronelle Carter (James), Kristin Rydman, Camron Rydman (Sue); mother-in-law, Linda Reinhold; sister-in-law, Cindy Nelson (Jeffrey); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Randee was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Rydman; father-in-law, Ronald Newell; sister, Karen Smith (Charles); sister-in-law, Susan Newell; and brother-in-law, Tracy Newell.
When we think of Randee we will think of this passage from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, “…she was one of those happily created beings who please without effort, make friends everywhere, and take life so gracefully and easily that less fortunate souls are tempted to believe that such are born under a lucky star.”
