Robert "BobbyJohn" John Anderson

1934 ~ 2011

Robert John Anderson, “BobbyJohn”, passed away November 8, 2011 peacefully at home.

He was born September 13, 1934 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to James Edgar and Maybell Head Anderson. He married Alice Jean Hedenstrom on July 11, 1953 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. He attended the University of Utah where he received a Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering.

Robert loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He always had great stories that kept everyone laughing. Robert worked for Kennecott at the Smelter for 26 years. He then went on to excel in real estate. His granddaughters told everyone he worked as a fixer-upper. Robert passed his strong work ethic on to his children and granddaughters. He loved to travel with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Alice; his son, David and his daughter, Lori (Mike); his two granddaughters, the lights of his life, Vonna and Connie; his sisters, Janet (John) and Carolyn (Mark), and brother, Ed (Janet). Finally his two four-legged loves, Pumpkin and Pepper. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Todd.

Graveside Services for Robert will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
