On April 28th, 2025, Robert Paul Johnson passed away quietly at home in his sleep. He was born in Delta, Utah, to Leah Boyington and Lloyd B. Johnson. He was the fifth of six children, four boys and two girls. All have preceded him in death. He is survived by his spouse: EllenMae Johnson; Children: Robert L (Bobbi), Randall Paul (Gretchen), Benjamin Ray (Angela), Michael Kim, Marina Antolievna Gutierrez (Chris), Jared MinSoo (Jaimie); ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest enjoyment was family gatherings to celebrate important days. His career included working at Monroc, hanging wallboard and over 30 years at ZCMI, later Macy's. Paul was one of the hardest working men you would meet. He would continue until a job was done, no matter how many extra hours were needed.
He enjoyed serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings: Elder Quorum President, Executive Secretary, Bishopric Counselor and High Counselor. He didn't like giving talks, but though the assignment of making sure the building facilities were functioning and being cared for was one of the best. Which he did for about five years. He also thoroughly enjoyed 10 years of singing bass with the Swanee Singers.
Paul's fighting, stubborn attitude was apparent as he battled through 13 different operations. He just kept on going. However, during these times he was able to serve in his favorite calling: he was a temple ordinance worker for over 13 years. He was delighted being in the temple- first in the Jordan River Temple and then at the Taylorsville Temple.
Paul lived in his home in West Valley City, Utah for 47 years. He spent his life being a friend to all. He was constantly helping others and his family. He's left a legacy of Christlike service and is being met on the other side with a "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
