

Roger “Brent” Barbour was born on December 28th, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the 5th of 6 children born to Hobart “Jake” Barbour and Dama Ball Barbour. Brent passed away on February 27th, 2025, holding each of his parents’ hands and surrounded by his children at his home in Bluffdale, Utah.
Brent’s early childhood was spent, as he called it, “free range,” exploring the fields near his home and bringing back every kind of pet imaginable. He attended Academy Park and Bennion Elementary, Bennion Jr. High, and Taylorsville High School, where he graduated. He married Kami Bateman on September 24th, 1987.
Brent loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid houndsman. He had a deep love for his dogs, horses, pigeons, hunting, fishing, and exploring. He especially cherished his grandchildren, spending his later years with them, as they brought him great joy.
Brent is survived by his parents, Jake and Dama; his best friend, Kami; and his children: Hobart (Shanny) Barbour, Kameron (Megan) Barbour, Kelsi (Tyson) Trujillo, Joey Barbour, and Jeff Knight. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Leeroy, Heidi, Jade, Ivy, Dante, Ruby, Madison, and Cannon. Siblings: Dennis (Brenda) Barbour, Mark Barbour, Shari (Gene) Duckworth, and Sally (Brian) Miller.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Dean Barbour.
Viewing & Graveside Services: Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at Valley View Memorial , 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT 84120. The viewing will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by the graveside service at 11:00 AM.
