I miss you so much dad. I know you would be so proud of what I have been able to accomplish within these last six years. I hope and pray you keep watching over me as I know you do specially when I wish so bad that you was here.

he was my heart my soul my love and meant everything to me he helped raise my 2 daughters marie and tammie ostrander marie was almost 3 and tammie was 10 months he loved my girls and his kids dearly there was david darrell mark mike and suzy we haD ALOT OF GOOD TIMES TOGEATHER we would play games with the kids go fishing. i remember having to hurry home from work get the girls and run to the ball park so we wouldnt miss the games. the girls would fall asleep on the bleachers because we would be late sometimes but they loved to go and i did as well.he loved his sports we would bowl togeather on leagues and him and i even though being on the same team i would love it when i would beat him and we would just laugh.we bowled on a league with his son mark and his exwife and we had alot of fun and took first place. we bowled with the moose lodge with my brother wayne and his wife and had alot of fun.one time his daughter suzy and ex husband and i and ron went fishing and he was catching all the fish well i and suzy told him u catch your limit your not using ours lol we were ready to thrrow him out of the boat no matter what he did he was catching them right and left. he just laughed at us.and he did catch our limit too.another time when we went fishing with my brother leonard and his wife we was sitting there on the shore for for 3 days we was listening to these sheep baha baha and the 1 morning it was very quite and all of us was sitting there fishing listening to the sheep and ron all of a sudden came off saying those are some sick sounding cows and we all started laughing and said cows their sheep . for the rest of the week when we would think about 1 of us would start to laugh and the rest of us would start laughing. my mom and him would have fishing contest to see who would catch the first and biggest one. we had alot of fun fishing trips. we had alot of fun going on ball tournments.he was a great husband and father and im going to miss him dearly.we went on alot of trips togeather the last few years which was great . he always wanted to go to hawaii and so i booked the cruise and we had alot of fun meant alot of nice people.we was able to go on a trip to florida with his daughter suzy and our grandkids which was great.i feel so lonely and lost without him the last 3 or 4 years was hard for him he would always tell me hunny im sorry you have to do this or that for more me but i loved doing for him . his daughter was there helping me when he was in and out of the hospital. i feel so emty inside like a piece of me was taken.even though i know hes in a better place i wish he was back with me but not suffering or in pain like he was. i love him so much and will miss him. with all my love my heart your our heart is one. love and forever your wife cheryl.we will be together again.thanks to all our friend for your love and support.

I saw Ron's obituary and wanted express my condolences to you. I remember him very well--kind, caring, loved by his family, and frustrated by the limitations from his cancer and lung problems. He was a tough, resilient patient, and I'm sure was a fighter until the end. I feel honored that I was able to get to know him for the small amount of time that I did--his courage certainly touched me as is often the case with patients who are facing difficult circumstances.     im real sad about the passing of your father ron. he and his brother don grew up on mead street with my father and all my uncles.. he was part of the greatest era of  baseball players  we will ever encounter. i also  worked with him at salt lake city.  the stories i herd from  him about  he and the bartholomews chasing baseballs at derks field i still smile at the thought everytime i look back now and i was really lucky to spend the time i did with him at the city...  well ronnie have a great time playing on the biggest and best field you have ever got a chance to play on.                till we meet again     good luck old friend

Of all the wonderful personalities I got to know in a decade of playing fastpitch softball, Ron was certainly one of the most memorable. Before I even really knew him, I can remember Clark Christensen and Kenny Thompson teasing him as he went to the plate, watching his non-chalant warm-up swings, and then bam, realizing "This guy can hit."  As good of a ballplayer as he was on the field, he was an even better guy off of it. I'll always appreciate the fun times that we, the Rebels, and the rest of the community of fastpitch softball players had together at the Cottonwood Complex and tournaments far and wide. You were a great one, Ron Hansen. My condolences to your family and your long list of friends.

Dear ole' dad, I will miss you very much!!! My mom (Magdalene Barbara) and dad had 5 kids together later they went their separate ways, But he always had a special place in his heart for her. He told me the story  when he was 17 yrs old he was invited to travel to Colorado to put on a show with Duncan yoyo, (he was the champion back then) my mom sent him a letter with a picture of herself inside, thats all it took, he packed his bags left his career behind and came back to Salt Lake to marry her. My dad was an awesome ball player too, I have fond memories as a little girl I was his bat girl for the team. He traveled all around doing what he loved most! He played at "white ball park" in Rose Park "cottonwood complex" in Holladay, some of the teams he played for was The Rebels,The Playboys,Page Break,The Den,Colorwheel,Key RxAll drug,Federated Security,to name just a few. He was given a trophy for "Leading Hitter" That was really cool!!! He was very proud of that. Dad had so many trophies, some as tall as 4 feet high! Oh boy, watching him hit those balls out of the ball field was AWESOME!!! WOW what memories! He knew so many people and enjoyed so many things! I remember some of my visits would be going golfing with him, i thought it was so cool to drive the golf cart for him. Other memories I have are fishing trips! The night before he would come over, he and I would go out in the garden with a flash light to catch the worms! When I grew up we continued our fishing trips and the fish stories we shared! Super bowl parties I had for him and his old friends! He didn't think he would make it to this last one, he did! It was great! Thank you all for making it happen, We all had a great time didn't we!! He taught me how to play ball, bowl, golf, fish, even pray. A little prayer he would say when he tucked me into bed. So many people knew him and has many stories too, please continue to share them, keep the memories alive! Love his daughter, Suzy

Everyone will miss you a lot at the Copper Golf Club. You always made us all laugh and was great fun to be around.Ron always had a smile and a story for us. May God bless you all in your time of sorrow.

Ronnie was a second cousin and I have fond memories of him and Donnie from our younger years...He was truely a great guy..He love to tease and had a great smile when doing it..Rest in peace MR...You will be missed..

I am sorry for you loss.  I played softball (fast pitch) with Ron and I knew him for many years.  I am so glad I was able to see him at the Amber Cafe at the Oldtimers meeting a few months ago,  He was a great teammate and a good friend.  I will always think of him fondly.  Grieve now but know that he is in a better place.

I was saddened to hear of Ronnie's passing away. We offer our sincere sympathy and condolence and may the Lord support you during this time of grieving.

The last times I had seen Ron and Cheryl were in American Fork. We were invited to Nauman and Colleen Brook's home for lunch and we later saw them when Nom and Colleen celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

I lived a block away from the "twins" in the old neighborhood for 15 years before I joined the service --- after graduating from South High School.

The old gang did everything together including partiscipating in all kinds of sports, attending ward shows, etc. and even trading funny books which Ronnie and Donnie had the greatest collection I had ever seen. I remember when Ron won the yoyo Contest. He set a standard where many of our close friends later won that same contest, including my younger brother, Gary Bryant. I have kept in touch with Dale Myrberg, who became the world champion yoyo king. He also won the local championship after Ron set the pace.

I have thought often how happy we were as kids and we went to each others place continually.

Cheryl, may you and your family find peace during you and your families greiving time. You have lost a wonderful companion.

i will miss my dad he always gave me strength and encouragement when ever i needed it. My dad used to call me his poncho when I was little.  Dad always seemed to know if something was wrong when i would walk through the door of his and moms  house and would come out of the bedroom teasing me till i would get mad and look up at him and see him laughing which would make me laugh some how that always gave me the strength and encouragement i would need.  My dad never had to say to much but what he would say to me was words that I hold dear to my heart he always seemed to know what to say and when. My dad was a careing and loving man. My dad was more then any father could ever be he showed me  the true meaning of what a dad is versus what a father is and he was a true full blown DAD. I thanked him every day in my heart and in words to him when ever I got a chance for being my dad I could not ask for a better dad he helped my mom raise me as if I was his own child. He was the one there to take me to my baptism and to  my confirmation. He was the one there to take me to my school class fieldtrip to the bank at Christmas time to watch me sing jinglebells He was the one that took me to get my ears pierced and he was the one there that took me to many places. Most of all once again he was the one there to help give me strength and encouragement when ever I needed it he would always know just what to say. I will miss my dad love you always your daughter
