1942 ~ 2011
Sharon Marie Healey Egemo, our loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many, passed away suddenly due to a brain hemorrhage on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous fight with heart disease. Sharon was born on January 19, 1942 in Sacramento, CA to Russell James and Sally Healey. She met and married the love of her life, Lloyd A. Egemo on August 1, 1961. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters.
The greatest love of her life was her family, and despite having an LVAD to keep her heart beating strong so that she could continue her journey with them, she was taken from us too soon. Through this journey she became a leader and example to others in the advancements of the LVAD medical field. Sharon enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with her family. She loved to spend time watching her daughters as they competed in high school rodeo, barrel racing and many other events, and spent many years as the Bingham High School Rodeo club advisor. Sharon could often be found at the numerous riding club events, baseball games, dance competitions, ect. that her grandchildren were involved in. Everywhere that Sharon went in life she touched those that she came in contact with. She will always be remembered as a loving, compassionate, kind individual that adored her family and would do anything for them, sacrificing endlessly. Sharon was adopted by many as a “mother or grandmother”.
Survived by her mother, Sally; daughters, Denice York (James Shoup) and Cheryl (Tracy) Trutzel; grandchildren, Colten York, Clintyn and Haleigh Trutzel; sister, Carman Giuffra; sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) Ruel; Uncle Joe Magana; best friend, Donna Pettit, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her father, Russell; brother, Steven and her dog, Molly.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, UT. Friends and family may visit with the family Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and are invited to participate in the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., or one hour prior to the funeral services on Monday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
A special thank you to the U of U Medical Center LVAD team and numerous doctors and nurses who have loving cared for our mother. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up in Sharon’s name at any Cyprus Credit Union.
