“Sammi”

Stella Marie Dorrity Jacobs, known to her friends as Sammi, 55, passed away on May 22, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on December 20, 1955 to Rulon Ladd Dorrity and Stella Mae Rackley Dorrity. She grew up in Sandy, Utah and attended school there and in California. She married Earl Jacobs (deceased). For the past 8 years she has been in a domestic relationship with Rudy Wallin, of West Valley City.

She was the Dietary Manager for Midtown Manor for the last 25 years. Sammi was very passionate and creative in food service. She catered for many family and friends for special occasions such as weddings and birthdays.

Sammi was always considerate of others and had an infectious smile. Once you were her friend she was your friend for life. She loved the people she worked with and served at work, they were her second family. She made friends with everybody and was always there for her friends and family. She loved to joke and laugh and enjoy life.

She is survived by Rudy Wallin; sister, Shirley (William) Coyne; brothers, Gary (Debbie) Dorrity; Kevin Dorrity, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, brother Charles Bullock.

Funeral service for Sammi will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, where friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm and again on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service.
