

Susan (Sue) Marie Kirk Canham, a warm-hearted and spirited soul, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 30, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sue was the beloved daughter of Gerald and Alice (Mathew) Kirk. She was a beacon of love, strength, and kindness, whose legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.
Sue was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Elias (Lee) Canham, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and happiness. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless adventures. She was also preceded by her cherished parents; her sister, Linda Stringfellow; sister, Jeralee Dutton; brother, Ted Kirk; son-in-law, William (Bill) Tesch; her dear son, Kevin Canham; grandson-in-law, Sammy James (Jamie) Wilson; and beloved great-grandchildren, Aubreyon Behunin and Jaddon Roy Tesch.
Her memory will be lovingly held by her surviving children: Jerry Talbot, Steven Canham, Jeff Canham (Korrie), Richard Canham, Shelley Tesch, and Karen Hill. Sue's legacy continues through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Sue worked for over 30 years in banking with Zions Bank, now retired. Her career was marked by integrity and dedication, earning the respect and admiration of those who knew her.
Sue’s passions extended well beyond her career. She had a deep love for the great outdoors, especially the cherished summers that she spent for more than 50 years at her property near Duchesne, Utah, and relaxing days fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. These times, shared with her beloved Lee, family, and friends, were the source of countless treasured memories.
Always surrounded by family, Sue found immense joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid player of card games, dominos, bingo, and keno, and she had a particular fondness for puzzles and diamond art. Sue never missed a year sending birthday cards to her loved ones, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sue's strong mind and spirit were hallmarks of her character. She approached life with a tenacity that inspired those around her, accomplishing whatever she set her mind to.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and friends at the Senior Center in Lake Havasu for the love and friendship they shared with Sue.
A viewing to celebrate Sue's remarkable life will be held at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah on Thursday, October the 8th, from 9:30 to 11:30 with burial at 12 noon at the Valley View Memorial Park 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
The family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in remembrance of a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and the warmth of cherished memories.
