Susan Scarlet Schmidt

Sue was born April 6, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah; the daughter of Clifford James Scarlet and Iona Holladay Scarlet. Sue returned home to her Heavenly Father and had a great reunion with her daughter Emma on February 17, 2016 due to complications from heart failure.

Sue married Sonny Schmidt on May 24, 1968 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked for many years in Telecommunications at IHC. Sue was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings. Sue was a fabulous cook and loved reading, sewing, crafting and spent many summers camping with her family. She had a very generous and giving nature. She had an unconditional love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter; Emma Lee Schmidt, brother; George Scarlet, parents; CJ and Iona Scarlet. She is survived by her eternal companion; Sonny Schmidt, her children; Robert (Becky) Schmidt, Barbara (Dave) Thygerson, Kenny (Anne) Schmidt, Corinne Schmidt, nine grandchildren, her siblings; Jackie (Dick) Nelson, Cora (Patrick) Ring and sister-in-law; Janet Scarlet.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake Jordan Stake Center, 3676 West 4700 South, West Valley City, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church Monday, February 22, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
