Suzanne Wassmer Unsworth

With immense gratitude for the love we were given and the sadness which proves how deeply we were loved, we announce the passing of Suzanne Wassmer Unsworth of St. George, Utah. Suzanne peacefully departed this earth on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the same love she so generously shared with everyone she met, after a courageous and graceful battle.

Born September 3, 1960, in Murray, Utah, to Marvin and Elaine Wassmer, Suzanne graduated from Granger High School where she met the love of her life, Danny (D.J.). They married in 1979 and built a legacy of love that includes three children, nine grandchildren, and her faithful companion to the very end, Otis.

Suzanne lit up every room she entered. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel special, welcomed, and loved. Her warmth, kindness, and grace left people feeling lighter and better simply for having been near her. She served selflessly, loved deeply, and led with unwavering grace.

An artistic soul, Suzanne found joy in painting, sunshine at the beach, and among flowers. She enjoyed many days on the golf course with her family and was known for her incredible talent in the kitchen. Her meals were more than food, they were invitations to gather, to belong, and to be filled with love (and she always kept black licorice on hand for those who knew her well).

Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband, Danny Unsworth; her children, Justin Unsworth and wife Jolynn (Kaity, Ty), JoLynn Jones (Karter, Addisen, Paetyn, Blakely), and Jeff Unsworth(and wife Alecia (Siara, Jayden, Faith), as well as her beloved brother and friend, Jeff Wassmer(and his wife Corinne (Stephanie, Kurtis, Whitney). Her nine grandchildren were among her greatest joys. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Services will be held at Valley View Mortuary 4335 W. 4100 S., West Valley City, UT.

Viewing: Tuesday, July 21, 2026 6:00pm-8:00pm

Funeral services: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 10:00am

Private family viewing at 9:30am

Interment will follow immediately.

Flowers may be sent to Valley View Mortuary in Suzanne’s name.
