

1949~2014
Thomas Irvin Berry, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 28th, 2014 at the age of 64. He was married to Teri Richman and resided with her in Kearns, UT.
Tom was born Dec. 7, 1949 in Lakawana, NY. His greatest loves were his wife, family, and service to his country. Tom’s interests included family, movies, casinos, collectibles, military memorabilia, and giving his best to his country. Along his path in life he touched and affected many people with his concerns for their well-being. To this end, he was loved, admired, and respected by many.
Tom actively served his country in the U.S. Army for 10 years. His service included Vietnam before making the move to civilian life in 1976 when he went to work for Litton Guidance and Control, later to become Northrop Grumman Systems. During his early years with Litton, Tom also served as a Deputy Sherriff in Josephine county, OR. Civilian life was not enough, however, and he joined the Army National Guard shortly after the start of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After a move to Utah for Litton, Tom retired from service to UTANG and was later recalled to service to the Army Reserves. He finally retired from service as First (Top) Sgt., 420th Military Police Company (I/R). In all, he proudly served the U.S. Military for 28 years, and Northrop Grumman for 38 years.
Tom is survived by his wife Teri, two sons Burton (Kim) and Scooter (Erin), step-children Ashley and Talan, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brother James Berry, and his special Aunt Delores (Doe) Donnelly. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard Irving & Mary Alice Berry, and his sister Carol Ann Stoklosa.
A celebration honoring Tom will be held July 7th at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S., WVC, UT. Viewing time from 5 to 6:45 PM, and memorial service from 7PM. Tom’s interment will be held on July 9th at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, at 10 AM. www.valleyviewfuneral.com
