Thomas (Shane) J. Whitehouse passed away February 25, 2012 at the age of 66.
Shane was born in Manhattan, New York on March 1, 1945. He was adopted at the age of one by Albert and Sara Whitehouse. He was raised in Akron, Ohio. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Shane married Barbara Powers on May 22, 1975. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara; children, Kenra (Ernie) Martinez, Kendall (Cindy) Carter, Jodie (John) Gideons, Perry (Kris) Carter and Kamie (Derek) Luke; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, aunt and granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
The family requests casual dress for the services.
