Born in September, 1977, the youngest child of Bob Dent and Sharon Dent (Jenkins), Todd grew up a happy child and loyal brother, in spite of the ribbing and pranks played on him by his older siblings. He graduated Granger High School in 1996 and attended Dixie College in St. George, Utah.
Todd traveled to Kobe, Japan in 1999 to serve a mission for the LDS church. Upon returning, he utilized his skill of speaking fluent Japanese working as a tour guide for Western Tour Guides until September 11, 2001 and then again as a translator for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
Todd began taking classes at the University of Utah and in 2008 started work at the “U” as a Billing Specialist in the Department of Nephrology. Always a student, Todd studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and competed in tournaments in Utah and California. He was an avid MMA fan and enjoyed watching UFC fights with his buddies. He was also a devoted Chicago Bears fan, but his strongest passion in life was his daughter, and inseparable best friend, Ryen.
In addition to Ryen, Todd is survived by his father and step-mother Bob & Birdie Dent; mother, Sharon Dent (Jenkins); brother, Rob Dent; sister and brother-in-law Keri and John Culbertson; Grandmother Connie Jenkins; former wife, Ann David Dent; three nieces, two nephews, two step-siblings, and several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
