Virginia Hamby

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Virginia Gabriela Martinez Hamby, 80, passed away on July, 14, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 24, 1936 in Des Moines, New Mexico to Pedro Fidencio and Albina Maria Sisneros. She graduated from Westwood High School and Susanville School of Business. Virginia married Noah Hamby and later divorced. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Virginia loved playing Bingo, going on trips to Wendover and vacationing with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her 2 special great nephews.

She is survived by her children: Rick Hamby, Charles Hamby, Yvette Hamby, Jeff Hamby; siblings: Adolph (Roberta) Martinez, Lorraine (John) Lusk, Diane Sisneros Hills (Buddy), Ralph (Thelma) Myles; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Noah Hamby.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, where friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
