In 2015, Vivian sold her home of 44 years in Seal Beach, California. She moved in with her daughter Kathy, and son-in-law, Earl Swain in Farmington, Utah, where she lived until she died at home on December 24, 2017. It was her Christmas wish to be with her husband again.
Vivian was known for many things, but most of all, her love for her family. She and Gene had five children, 16 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She had many talents making handmade items. She loved to crochet, embroider, quilt, and cook. She gifted hundreds of people with her handmade items that everyone cherished. Vivian also had a great love for her Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ that she taught so well by word and example to all around her. She was fiercely protective of her family and the Gospel, and she served in many callings over the years. Her favorite calling was the 14 years that she and Gene spent serving as ordinance workers in the Los Angeles temple. Vivian was loved dearly and will be missed.
