Teenie was born December 5, 1928, and grew up on the Starnes Bluff section of Scott County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel H. Starnes and Bessie M. Starnes, one brother,
Harold E. Starnes, one sister, Mildred Ann Hoyle, her first husband, Everett L. Dykes, her second
Husband, Loren (Moose) Moscoe, and one nephew, Joseph M. Starnes.
She is survived by two brothers, Sam R. (Bettye) and Thomas L. Starnes, two nephews Dwight(Karen) Starnes and Craig (Kristen) Starnes, three nieces, Barbara Starnes, Stephanie
(Kirk) Sutphin and Susan Starnes (Steve). Also, several great-grand nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Dungannon High School and the Whitney School of business in Kingsport,
Tennessee. She was employed at Holston Ordnance Works in Kingsport, Tennessee for several years before moving to Daytona Beach, Florida where she worked and retired from NASA. After retirement she worked as a model in the Tampa, Florida area for many years.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Palm Harbor Methodist Church at her death. In addition to her modeling career, she enjoyed Football (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and baseball (Tampa Bay Rays).
After suffering a fall and a stroke while living alone in Tampa Bay, Florida in 2020 , she moved to an
assisted living center in Salt Lake City, UT where she enjoyed her final years. She was known there
as the best dressed resident at the center where she never failed to dress complete with earrings, necklaces, lipstick and groomed hair every day. The family would like to acknowledge the
excellent care and love given to her at the Crescent Senior Living Center by all of the employees during
her stay.
Per her request, Teenie will be cremated and laid to rest along with her parents, brother and sister at the Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Virginia at a later date.
