April 22, 2008 – July 21, 2022
Willard Chris Barizira won his battle with cancer and complications on July 21, 2022, and is now free, whole, and no longer in pain. We are so very grateful for all of those who prayed and sent good thoughts his way. We may not have received the miracle we were hoping for, but miracles were and are being received.
Willard was born on April 22, 2008, in Birmingham, England. He loved soccer, school, his friends, and most importantly his family. He always had a smile on his face and never complained not even when he was in the hospital for so many months. He was an “old soul.” All the nurses and doctors at Primary Children’s Hospital all commented on what a gentle and kind person he was.
Willard is survived by his parents, Suavis Kanyange, Bonaventure Barizira, his brother Devan Clint Barizira, grandmother Floride Nyiminyeretse; grandfather Misago Jean; foster sisters Alize Bizimana and Alliance Adriano, foster brother Oliver Etienne and many other foster siblings and loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A viewing will be held Friday July 29th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM at the Swahili Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3805 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 30th at 11:00 AM with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 AM at the Swahili Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3805 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115.
Following the service, Willard will be laid to rest at Valley View Memorial Park located at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.
The family thanks the medical staff of Primary Children’s Hospital for their wonderful care of Willard.
