Willie Adren (Bill) Inman was born December 18, 1924, the sixth of seven children, in Greenville Kentucky to Robert Christopher and Alma Vitula Vanover Inman. He passed from this life on Friday July 1, 2016 in Salt Lake City Utah. Sisters, Lillie Mae and Martha after the death of their parents, raised him and his baby sister Pearl, His parents and siblings preceded him in death.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved the mountains, lakes and streams of Utah to camp, hunt and fish with his family. He lived by the code “Never kill or catch something you don’t intend to eat.”
Although he stopped attending formal schooling in the 8th grade, he continued learning the rest of his life. He held several jobs, his favorite; selling real estate in the Salt Lake area, and least favorite; picking tobacco worms off tobacco plants, on the farm where he was born. He busted broncos for riding as a teen, did a short stint at Kennecott Copper after arriving in Utah at the age of sixteen, but his skills in life seemed to be in sales, from brokering the cost of tobacco in Kentucky as a boy, and as his family grew he established businesses for selling Quality Freezers, Permanent Sales, stainless steel cookware, and on into the Real Estate business in later life.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II, trained at Fort Abbott in Bend Oregon, and stationed on the army base in Greenland. He was an avid bowler; at the age of 75 years he was 5th in the nation for seniors (over 40), horseshoe player, hunter, fisherman, story teller, and loved the thrill of getting his next sale.
Preceded in death by his wife, Leah, and son Tim.
Survived by children; Wayne (Jean), Jayne, Mike, Becky (Dave) and Todd (Vicki). Also survived by Betta, Tim’s wife, 22 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren (with 2 on the way) and 5 great great grandchildren (1 on the way).
The family would like to thank all those at Wellington Assisted Living and Inspiration Hospice for their concern, care and thoughtfulness given to dad. We appreciate it so much.
