Alice Joy Fields, 92, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born on October 15, 1933, in Phoenix, Arizona, Alice lived a life marked by faith, dedication, music, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Alice earned her bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance from California State University, Fullerton—a passion that became one of the defining joys of her life. She met the love of her life, Donald Eugene Fields, in high school, and the two shared 30 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Together they raised two sons, Robert and Donald, who remained the center of her world.
A hardworking and devoted professional, Alice served as a secretary for 10 years, a housewife for 20 years, and later an executive secretary for an Orange County real estate office for over 30 years. Her strong work ethic and commitment made her a respected and valued colleague. Yet her greatest professional love was music. As a church organist for 60 years, Alice offered her extraordinary talent in service of her faith and community. Her music—thoughtful, prayerful, and deeply heartfelt—uplifted countless worshippers over the decades.
Alice’s interests were many, but she found special joy in organ performance, her work at the county, caring for her pets, and reading. She will be remembered for her faithfulness, her prayerful spirit, her dedication, her musicianship, and her role as the cherished matriarch of her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Fields; her sisters, Dorothy Martin and Shirlee Schultz.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Fields and Donald Fields; her grandchildren, Joshua Fields, Angela Fields, and A.J. Fields; and all who loved her dearly.
A Memorial service celebrating Alice’s life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Live Oak UCC (formerly Brea Congregational Church), 300 E. Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92821.
