 
Yesterday was your Birthday.
You be 93.
I've placed a bouquet of flowers, 
I hope you can see.
They are the color of an Autumn Sunset above the                  Autumn Trees and brings sweet, childhood memories
of you and me.
Memories of the shorten days of Autumn, of baking bread, pumpkin pie, chili on the stove and how the fragrance 
envelopes you, when you walk thru the door. There's
one special memory that stays within my heart. It's of you
tucking me in bed, whispering "Sweet Dreams" and gently 
kiss me on my head.                                                                                                   
Just one more item, before I turned to bed; was when
 the sun had fallen and the stars lit up that night,
I wished you a Happy Birthday. "Sweet Dreams,  I did
softly say."

My favorite color is pink
And yours was always blue
Tonight the sunset is both these shades
And it makes me think of you

It's the last few weeks of summer
The leaves will soon begin to turn
I miss you so much it hurts
And it makes my stomach churn

I wish I could tell you about my days at the beach
About the waves and my toes in the sand
I wish you could see the ocean
I wish you could sit next to me and hold my hand

You are always in my heart, Grandma
And there you will forever remain
But I know without you here
My life will never quite feel the same

There is an emptiness
There is a copious feeling of loss
Sometimes when I'm lying in bed
I'll just sigh and turn and toss

I guess what I'm saying is I miss you
And I love you an enormous amount
I am so grateful for our time, Grandma
And for making our moments together count

It's still the month of July
The month you passed away
And even though I am back in Florida
My skies above are gray

I wish I could call you
And hear your voice one last time
I wish I could go back to our summers, Grandma
Because our time together was sublime

There are a dozen conversations I want to have
And a hundred things I wish I could tell you
Life has been pretty hard this year
And it's got me feeling pretty blue

I know I have support
And I know I have love in my life
But I've been going through some things, Grandma
And they've been causing me some strife

I wish you could hold me
And tell me it's all going to be okay
I wish you hadn't left this earth
I wish you were able to stay

Grief is not pleasant
It's a choking sensation, a pit that continues to sink
It's a hollow hole, a deserted wasteland
Even when the sunsets are shades of blue and pink

The sadness overcomes me
The tears well in my eyes
The grief is all-consuming
A feeling I thoroughly and whole-heartedly despise

I know you are no longer in pain
And somehow that makes it feel somewhat okay
I have so many warm and calming memories with you
From them I hope my mind will never stray

Sunflowers and summer days
Feeding the ducks at our pond
Holding your hand in mine
And feeling our special bond

I know you are in my heart
That's a place you will always be
I miss you every day, Grandma
And I wish you were still here with me

Momma, 
I miss you so much! Everywhere I go there are memories of you and it's so hard to bear not being able to touch your face, stroke your hair or hear your voice. I feel lost without you.
Thank you for always loving me, for your wonderful hugs, for giving me blue eyes, for my beautiful name, for holding my hand and not  wanting to let go, for making me feel safe. Your my Mom and I want no other. My life won't be the same without you. There is a huge hole that can't be filled. I love you Momma and I always will.
