Ann Gentile

Ann Gentile, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, was born on September 17, 1936, in Carpinteria, California, and passed away on August 7, 2026, in Fountain Valley, California. She grew up in Gilroy, California, where she began a life that would be filled with family, love, hard work, and countless cherished memories.

Ann met the love of her life, Paul Gentile, at the Elks Lodge. After getting to know one another, they were married in 1960 and began building their life together. Ann devoted herself to caring for her three daughters and took great pride in creating a beautiful and welcoming home for her family. She was a woman who found joy in taking care of the people she loved and making sure her family always felt loved and cared for.

When her daughters were in high school, Ann worked for the Westminster School District as a cafeteria cook and truck driver. She was a hardworking and dependable woman who took pride in everything she did, whether it was providing for her family, preparing a meal, tending to her home, or simply being there for the people she loved.

Ann was a loving, caring, generous, and deeply family-oriented woman. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and word games. She loved her coffee, popcorn, and vanilla shakes, and she enjoyed playing the lottery and watching crime shows. She was rarely without her favorite slippers and black sweater. But above all, Ann loved her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with the people she loved and watching her family grow through the generations.

Ann is survived by her daughters and their families: Kathleen and Dan Becher, and their children, Chance Becher and Willow Becher; Cheryl and Scott Stepien, and their children, Aydn Gentile and his wife, Danielle Gentile, Grace Green and her husband, Daniel Green, Bryce Stepien and his wife, Alyssa Stepien, and Kenny Stepien; and Terry Thomas, daughter of Annie and the late John Thomas, and her children, Johnny Thomas and his wife, Bridgette Thomas, and Carissa Harchut and her husband, Tyler Harchut.

She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren: Charis Green, George Green, Walker Stepien, Wesley Stepien, Hallie Stepien, Waylon Thomas, Winona Thomas, and Jaxton Harchut.

Ann's love, generosity, strength, and devotion to her family will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the care she showed to others, and the beautiful family she helped create. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Ann will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel. A service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the same chapel, with a graveside service to follow in the Garden of Reflections.
