Barbara was born July 8, 1934, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her family moved to Southern California shortly after her birth and settled in Seal Beach, CA. She spent all of her life in Seal Beach. As a child she helped with the family business, along with her parents and brother, operating the Seal Beach Pier. She graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1952 and then Orange Coast College. Barbara had a 40-year career at McDonnell Douglas, Long Beach retiring as an Export Manager.
She had a love for cats and gardening. In her retirement, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, helping with afterschool care. She was an avid reader and would often read two to three books a week. She was close to her neighbors in Seal Beach, where she lived for 60 years.
Barbara is survived by her son, Charles Cain of Laguna Niguel, her daughter-in-law, Lisa Cain, her grandchildren, Alyssa Cain and Alexander Cain, and a brother William Lescher of Seal Beach, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Elsie (Diane) Lescher of Seal Beach, CA.
