Carol Webster, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed on March 8, 2013. Carol was born in Oakland, California on March 27, 1929 to Florence and Adolph Demichelli. She had one sister, Verna Cyr, who predeceased her. At age 19, Carol married her high school sweetheart and the only love of her life, Robert Webster who passed away on January 5, 1992. Carol is survived by her four children, Robert B. Webster, Jr., Sharon Webster Barbari, Nancy Rossi and Ellen Barnard, and her six grandchildren, Nicole Rossi, Carolann Smith, Natasha Barbari, Megan Rossi, Robert Bertram Webster III, and Katie Webster. Carol was best known for her life of charitable endeavor, St. Anne’s Maternity Home, National Charity League, Olive Crest Foster Family Agency, Orange County Philharmonic, St. Jude’s, Las Madrecitas, Autism Speaks, Free Arts for Abused Children, Comfort for Court Kids and, of course, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society along with the dedicated group that she founded, Volunteers in Multiple Sclerosis (VIMS), which provided numerous college scholarships, in Bob’s name, for students impacted by multiple sclerosis, a fully equipped van with a wheelchair lift for patient transportation and donations to National MS. Carol also opened up her beautiful Harbour home, for 15 years to 30 foster children so that they may celebrate the spectacular Huntington Harbour Holiday boat parade. Carol took incredibly wonderful care of her husband Bob during his valiant 25-year his battle with MS, including taking him on cruises virtually until his passing!
Ever the bonne vivant, Carol loved the libations, the friendship, and the cuisine at the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club and the Huntington Harbour Anglers. Carol also loved to party at the hotel she and Bob co-owned for a time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and, during her last 21 years, she literally traveled the world, missing only, amongst the continents, the North and South poles!
Carol was always fun, generous and caring but the joy of Carol’s life and her legacy are the wonderful relationships she nurtured with her six beloved grandchildren. She will always be adored and missed terribly by her family but we are comforted by the faith that she is, at long last, with her beloved Bob.
Catholicism was her rock and she was a good and faithful servant always. One of her most joyous moments was when she and her beloved Bob were able to be remarried in the Catholic Church . ...RIP mom/grandma
