Dear Greg and Family,
Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father--our "Uncle Chuck (Chuckles)"--a true pioneer of the faith and precious comrade of our family ever since the founding of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil in 1958. What a void he leaves here, but what a gain for Heaven! And what precious memories! So many of our fun memories and life-forming spiritual values center around experiences with Uncle Chuck and Aunt Roma: music recitals, holiday celebrations, cultural trips, warm hospitality, exquisite cuisine, babysitting and fishing trips with their precious toddler Greg, orientation to ways of the United States, a farewell party when Ginny left for college (complete with Pan Am flight attendant hats, passports, songs, etc.), and times of spiritual transformation and growth with them as our Sunday School teacher and pastor--and these, of course, always with the knowledge that they truly loved us, cared about us and could be trusted. What a joy when they returned to the States to have them be the pastor to all us MK's when we were in college! And how thrilling to have them come and visit us in the early years of our marriage and then to keep in touch with us throughout the rest of their lives! Finally, it was so fitting to have Uncle Chuck, a most loyal friend of our dad down through the years, pronounce the final benediction at Dad's memorial service! (Thanks again, Greg, for bringing your dad up to Seattle for that service.) Heaven is getting sweeter all the time. Sister Liz and I were commenting, upon hearing of Uncle Chuck's passing, about how most of that great generation of missionaries that helped bring us up in the faith are now in Heaven. It makes us realize anew the importance of keeping the faith that they instilled in us so that we might be reunited with them up there. Thanks be to God for Jesus, our Hope of Glory--and of a grand family reunion!
With our love and prayers,
Jim and Ginny (Mosteller) York
