Born in Long Beach on May 25, 1958, Debbie is survived by her mother Madge Decker (Larry) of Long Beach, CA, father Richard Adams (Carole) of Salem, OR, brothers Gary Adams (Leesa) of Eagle, ID, and John Adams (Leah) of Lancaster, CA, sister Gina Reynolds (Andy) of Blountville, TN, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graduate of Millikan High School, Debbie also attended Long Beach City College and CSULB, before working toward a master of science certification in Horse Therapy. She was an active Equine Body Worker and the Owner of Equine Attunement. As an instructor, she also utilized therapeutic riding in her work with handicapped children.
A talented artisan in several media, Debbie was also the Owner of Possible Impossibilities Studio.
Her early work experience spanned a variety of favorite interests: Stage Scenic Director for Millikan High School, Veterinary Assistant at Rossmoor Animal Hospital, Dog Trainer with Long Beach Parks & Recreation, volunteer with the Forest Service, as well as positions with Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and TRW.
Debbie was also the Chairman and Webmaster of the International Equine Body Worker Association (IEBWA), served on the board of the Aviculture Society, and was a member of several area bird clubs.
An avid animal lover – particularly horses – she also enjoyed gardening and garden tours, singing, numerous fun adventures at Disneyland, and was a fan of all things Halloween and Christmas.
Debbie will long be remembered for her ever-positive attitude, beautiful smile, and gentle spirit. She was a friend to everyone – both 2- and 4-legged – and made a lasting impact on those who knew and loved her. A life short, but so very well lived.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, July 10, at 2:30pm at Westminster Memorial Park Ossuary, 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA.
