Dixie Ann Gates

She was born in Long Beach CA. on 7/5/1937 to Kenneth Lay and Bernice (Betty) Lay both from Illinois.

She is survived by her daughters Debra Folino and Judy Wilkinson, her sister Sally Unroe of Ohio, her 5 grandchildren Jason (Rachel), Benjamin (Christopher), Becky (Rudy), Steven and Christopher (Brittney). Her 7 great grandchildren, Jonah, Avery, Jessa, Skylar, Owen, Aiden and Login. She also has many nephews and nieces.

For over 20 years she lovingly took in over 100 foster babies until they could find their forever families. She loved taking her yearly trips to Branson, MO and her daily visits to the Orange Co Fair every summer. She also loved her daily HomeTown Buffet visit, where everyone expected to see her and if she wasn’t there they would call all over to make sure she was OK! She had a way of adopting people as her own.

Dixie made an impact on everyone’s lives that knew her!

Dixie will be laid to rest on July 13th (private) next to her husband Glenn, at Westminster Memorial Park 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster CA 92683
