Dolores J. Morrow

Dolores (Dee) Morrow was welcomed into the arms of our loving father on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Dee was born to Bruno and Julia Kupkowski on September 11, 1928. She attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and St. Mary’s High School in Chicago, Illinois.

She met the love of her life, Gene Morrow, right next door at the age of 16. They were married on May 13, 1950 and she started her life as a homemaker. She had three children, Susan, Greg and Gayle.

After living in Chicago and Lisle, Illinois, the family moved to Westlake Village California in 1968, then to Durham, North Carolina in 1973 and back to Westlake in 1976.

Dee was very involved throughout her community in various civic organizations. Most notably, The Westlake Women’s Club of which she was one of the original seven charter members. She also was a charter member of Children’s Village USA Buena Ventura Chapter and also participated in the California Federation of Women’s Clubs. Other organizations included The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura Chapter, The City of Westlake Village and the Thousand Oaks Civic Center.

She was awarded The President’s Call To Service Award by the USA Freedom Corps in 2005 for outstanding civic participation and dedication. In 1986 she became First Lady to Commodore Gene Morrow at The Westlake Yacht Club. Dee would continue her dedication and service to the club for many years to come.

Her hobbies included cooking, singing, gardening and entertaining friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene of 69 years; daughters, Susan and Gayle Lambertson; son, Greg: son-in-law, Brian Lambertson: granddaughters Brooke Cannon and Lindsay Lambertson; grandson Evan Lambertson and great granddaughter Raelin.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Julia Kupkowski and her brother, Russell Kupkowski.

A memorial mass will be held at St Judes Catholic Church 32032 Lindero Cyn. Rd. Westlake Village, CA 91361 at 10AM January 30th, 2020 and be followed by A Celebration of Life at The Westlake Yacht Club, 32123 Lindero Cyn. Rd. Westlake Village, CA 91361
