Eleanor Marie Weaver, age 97, passed away on June 22 in Fountain Valley. A devout Catholic, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She lived a life filled with faith, kindness, and love.
Eleanor was born on Oct. 12, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois. She attended school in Chicago, and after graduation worked for insurance companies as a secretary in Chicago and Los Angeles. Her family moved to California where she met her husband, Paul, at a church dance. Eleanor described herself as a “Domestic Engineer” after marrying and having two daughters. She was a wonderful Mom. She and Paul were married for 41 years when Paul passed in 2005.
Eleanor always had a beautiful smile. She was caring, compassionate, and had a heart of gold. She was an excellent cook. She donated to many charities and was on the mailing list of almost all the other ones.
She enjoyed bowling and decorating cakes when the girls were young. In her later years, crossword and jigsaw puzzles became her favorite hobbies. She was always an avid reader.
Her family always came first, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her mother, Grace Panza; her father, Gabriele Panza; and her brothers, George and Maurice Panza.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Patricia Weaver (Lorena); and Theresa King. Also, six grandchildren: Alex (Roni), AJ, Zach, and Clover King; Makenna Jacobs (Devon); Landon Magdaleno-Mague; and one great-grandson, Kainoa Jacobs.
Despite living a long life, she will be greatly missed. Her memory will live on through family and friends.
A gathering will be held after the burial. More information to come.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
