Born May 10, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Betty eventually relocated to Huntington Beach, California where she and her husband, Tom Pelle, built a life together.
Betty loved her family fiercely and is survived by her husband, Tom; their four children, Tom, Greg, Jeff, and Susanne; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty spent her life devoted to others and demonstrated this through acts of service. As an adult, she spent hours cleaning houses with her mother, so that others could enjoy a tidy home, cared for with love. She was also actively involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, volunteering for school and sporting events, and found joy in sewing—creating outfits, Halloween costumes, and stuffed animals for family members, and even for the occasional school play
An avid reader, gin rummy aficionado, and holiday enthusiast, Betty was known for hosting gatherings where she opened her home (and kitchen) not only to family, but also to friends and those in need of community. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary, located at 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA, 92683, on July 11, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
Elizabeth was a resident of Huntington Beach, California.
