She was the fourth out of ten children born to Robert and Helen Edmonds; born on September 8, 1948, in Utica, Michigan. Helen and Robert, moved around the US with their kids in tow. Emma ended up landing and put down roots in Southern California with her daughter Cheryl.
Throughout her career and life, she cared for people; first as an x-ray technologist, but she continued training and earning licenses. Eventually she advanced to doing radiation dosimetry for cancer treatment. While working in radiation therapy as a dosimetrist, she met her husband, Dr. Bouchaib Rabbani and they married on March 30, 1985.
Emma loved to fill her home with the delicious scents of cooking—with vegetables, fruits, and herbs from her garden, and fragrant roses—from her painstakingly curated garden. A lover of beautiful things, she used her skills to create beautiful clothing and jewelry for her family and friends, who she loved to visit with often.
Emma and Bouchaib enjoyed traveling together, frequently with friends, all around the world, preferably cruising in small river boats—Emma’s favorite mode of travel. Recently, Emma and Bouchaib had spent their free time “waltzing” through life, learning and competing in ballroom dance.
Emma was preceded by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bouchaib, her two daughters—Cheryl Hilberg (Husband David) and Nadia Rabbani, her two grandsons—JD and Nicholas Hilberg, and great-granddaughter—Wrenley Hilberg. She is also survived by three brothers— Robert Jr, Roy, and Mark, and six sisters—Hugh Ann, Charlotte, Theresa, Linda, Janet, and Karen.
Her funeral will be held on June 19, 2024, at 2:30pm in the Main Chapel, she will be laid to rest following the Chapel service at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Emma's name to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
