It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Richard Huelskamp, beloved husband, father, and friend. He passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 91 in Santa Ana, California, where he was born on July 13, 1933.
Herbert was a proud graduate of Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana City College. He went on to make a living in medical sales, a career where he was highly respected by his colleagues and clients alike. Herbert met his wife, Judith Larsen Huelskamp, at a restaurant in Tustin, CA, and the two formed a lifelong bond filled with love and companionship.
Herbert’s family was everything to him. He was a devoted husband to Judith, and his kindness and unwavering love for her were evident to all who knew them. Together, they welcomed two sons, one of whom has sadly preceded him in death. Herbert was also a proud “father” to his furry companion, Charly, who brought him comfort and joy.
Herbert had a variety of interests that brought him great happiness. He loved golf and enjoyed the thrill of gambling and poker. He was known for his generosity of spirit and was often described by friends and family as a wonderful man with a heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ginny De Angelo; his brother, Robert Huelskamp; his sister, Joan Buck; his father-in-law, Victor A. Larsen; his mother-in-law, Marian J. Larsen; and one of his sons.
Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Judith Larsen Huelskamp; his son, Michael Huelskamp; his nephew, Rob Huelskamp; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Westminster Memorial Park Sunset Garden.
Herbert's memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will always be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the deep love he shared with his family. May he rest in peace.
