My name is John D’Onofrio and I am a cousin of Italo.  I live in Warren, Michigan.
My mother, Colombia Rossi D’Onofrio was a sister of Palmira Rossi DeAngelis, the mother of Italo and his two brothers, Anselmo and  Elio - all three born in Detroit.
Palmira died from an infection two weeks after Elio’s birth in April of 1931.  My mother often said that she helped raise the three DeAngelis boys in Detroit after Palmira died.

In early 2024, I came in contact with Jeff DeAngelis, son of Elio, and he made me aware that Italo was still  living in California!   Previously, I had no contact with any DeAngelis Family member since  the 1980s.  I had many questions for Italo - primarily about his growing up in Detroit and what he remembered about my mother and the rest of the Rossi Family.  Unfortunately, Italo passed away before I had the opportunity to talk to him and any possible insight into the past went along with him.  I really would have loved to talk to him!

My deepest sympathies to his family!
