God only takes the best you know!

Aunt Irene always had a smile on her face. She was always happy and smiling, you could hear it in her voice. I remember so many birthday , holiday, Christmas parties at Aunt Irene's and Uncle Dave's. Always a joyous and fun time, laughing, teasing and happiness with grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins. When Aunt Irene came to my wedding she gave me the best gift of anyone...one of the wood tiki dolls my dad had carved and given to them as a gift. It was so special to me. Heaven has definitely received an angel.

Each one of us has been touched is one way or another by Irene's love she bestowed on all of us. I met Irene shortly after she came to California in 1959---54 years ago. We both worked for the same title company and have remained dear friends to the end. How could you not be blessed with a friendship like that?
I wish I knew the formula for wiping away your tears. They say that time alone will hear your sorrow that you bear today, and we know that life without her will not be the same, still may it help a bit to know that others feel your pain.
God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be. So, He wrapped His arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes you watched ...you suffered, and watched her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating; a determined spirit was at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us: "He only takes the Best."
Someone so special can never be forgotten. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; but love leaves a memory no one can steal and Irene certainly was loved by all.
We know one day we will all take the path alone and Irene will be there to greet us with that smile on her face “Welcoming Us Home”.
Sharing in your sorrow, Shirley (Meek)
